If your tire is no longer holding air the way it should, it might need a tire repair. If it is flat, it likely needs to be replaced. But, how do you know where to go to get a repair, if that’s what the tire needs?

Tire Repair

You might not be able to tell the difference between needing a tire repair and needing a replacement. Without being an expert, it is hard to tell. The tire might need to be removed to see how badly it’s damaged and what it will take to fix it. At a certain point, the repair could cost more than the tire. So, where to go?

You’ll need to take the tire to an honest shop that will check the tire and give you a straight and truthful answer about the condition of your tire. Sometimes it could need a little patch and you’ll be good to go. Sometimes, if you ran over something that shredded a portion of the tire it won’t be patchable. And if that tire has very worn tread, then there is no point in fixing it. You need a new tire.

But there is a situation where a tire keeps losing air and it has nothing to do with the tire. When roads get into rough shape, potholes are unavoidable. Hitting a big pothole hard can bend the tire’s rim. A bent rim prevents a good seal with the tire resulting in air leaking out. You can replace your tire and you’ll find it still loses air. This is why you need to visit an honest shop. But where to go?

You can find honest mechanics that will give it to you straight at A1 Performance Auto Repair. We can check your tire to find out what the problem is and give you a cost effective solution. Give us a call for an appointment to bring in your tire.
