When you want to go electric with your car, because it seems to be the right thing to do, but you don’t want to give up all the luxury of your Mercedes Benz, there is now a solution. Mercedes has gone fully electric with their EQC brand.
The Fully Electric Mercedes
The new Mercedes-Benz EQC 400 4MATIC gives you everything you want in your SUV, but it’s 100% electric for doing your part in helping save the environment from fossil fuels. The EQC 400 has all the power and comfort of an all-wheel drive SUV. It’s starting price is $67,900.
Charging up your EQC 400 can be done in 10 hours for a full charge using your wall unit at home. When you use DC Fast Charging, it cuts charging time from 10% to 80% to just 40 minutes.
You can plug your car into your 110v outlets however, it’ll take a long time to charge. The EQ is meant to charge on a 240V charging station. When you purchase your EQ 400, ask about installing a 240V charging station at your home, it’s easy to do.
You might think of an electric car as a glorified golf-cart, but that just isn’t so. This car will go 110mph. So, it is going to get you where you want to go very quickly. While it’ll take longer if you reach peak speeds then have to wait on the side of the road while the cop writes you a speeding ticket, it’ll go the speed limit just fine, too. Acceleration is rated at 4.8 for 0-60mph.
When You Can Buy One
Ask your Mercedes dealership to put you on their mailing, list so you’ll be notified when these are going to be available in the US. They are expected to be released in early 2020.

Your Mercedes is likely your pride and joy and the best car you’ve ever owned. But! What if your brother-in-law smoked his cigars in it while you were on vacation? Or you forgot about that bag of hamburger and fries on the back seat on a hot summer day? All is not lost. There are ways to deodorize your precious car.
Mercedes Odors Be Gone
Here are some tips for getting your Mercedes smelling fresh and almost new once again. Odors don’t have to ruin your car forever or even for months. There is a cure, several of them, actually.
Vinegar
White vinegar is a great deodorizer. It breaks down certain types of smells. Animal urine is one example. Did the cat take a whiz in the car on the way to the vet? Pour a little white vinegar on the spot then blot up as much as you can. The vinegar will break down the urine. The car will smell of vinegar for a week as it evaporates, but it is better than cat pee!
Carbon
You can purchase sheets of carbon embedded “fabric” on the Internet. The fabric is more of a furnace filter type of stuff. Put a couple of these sheets under your seats to soak up odors. Change them out when they stop working.
Borax
Good old 20 Mule Team Borax is fabulous for breaking down any organic stain. Mix up a loose paste with hot water, stir until dissolve, then pour on the stain. Let it sit for 30 minutes and then wipe it up.
Detailing
If the home remedies don’t work, then you’ll need to see an auto detailer to have the interior shampooed.

“With the Mercedes AMG GT C Coupe, we are now expanding our portfolio of sports cars to six models plus the AMG GT3 customer sport racing car. In fewer than three years, the second vehicle to be developed by us entirely in-house has grown into a family, offering a highly dynamic driving experience in a variety of forms. We are kicking off our anniversary year with the exclusive “Edition 50″ model of the new AMG GT C Coupe. We are also taking this opportunity to refine the AMG GT and AMG GT S, both visually and technically,” says Tobias Moers, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.
One upgrade that will delight is the new Panamericana grille that all the 2018 AMG GT models will have. It features 15 chrome-plated bars that are placed vertically. Now it looks more like a sport racing car. The profile looks like it sits lower on the road due to the new front bumper’s design. This effect is obtained by the bumper emphasizing the car’s width. Mercedes knows you’re going to drive fast and furious in this car, so they made the outer air inlets larger to give more air to cool the engine.
Also new is the output variants restructuring. The AMG GT now puts out 469 hp in the entry level model. This is 13 hp more than previous year models. The 8-cyclinder engine now delivers an extra 22 lb-ft of peak torque. These new stats apply to the FT Roadster, as well.

Mercedes, a long-time occupant of the most enviable vehicles list, keeps upping their game to keep that reputation in place. Tracing its origins back to Karl Benz’s 1886 Benz Patent-Motorwagen, commonly cited as the first gasoline-powered vehicle, Mercedes keeps plugging away at its, “The Best or Nothing” motto.
Self-Driving Mercedes
Today, Mercedes is positioning itself to become a global leader in the arena of self-driving vehicles, despite the overshadowing talk about Tesla’s endeavors. The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E300 introduces the new feature of DrivePilot. The car allows for intuitive speed adjustments, automatic emergency breaking and lane control. It even features front facing cameras that capture 3D images of potential hazards up to 55 yards in front of the vehicle. Another feature allows drivers to pull the vehicle out of a parking space with a smartphone app, if you find an adjoining car invading your personal space. No more crawling through the passenger side door when confronted with that tight parking spot. And, while other vehicles may separately offer some of these technology features, Mercedes’ take on the future of driving is winning rave reviews in the automotive and mainstream media.
And, if it’s the thrill of the road that excites you more than technology, Mercedes keeps your desires in mind as well. The media continues buzzing about a Mercedes AMG – GT convertible rumored to finally be unveiled at the 2016 Paris Auto Show. The luxury cabriolet promises to keep the GT’s 4.0-liter, 456 horse power, turbocharged V8 engine to deliver power, speed and style in a sunshine-filled package. The idea of a rag top sportiness combined with plentiful Mercedes power keeps the media buzzing.
Mercedes, with it’s proven history of engineering excellence, continues to break new ground. Explore the world of a proven automotive innovator. And remember to bring your new Mercedes to A1 Performance Auto Repair for all of its maintenance.
