You will see that we proudly display the Diamond Certified logo, but you might be wondering what is behind the symbol. When a company is awarded the Diamond Certification, it means that the company is in the top 10% of consumer rated companies in the Sunnyvale area. We proudly display the Diamond Certified logo in our business and our website.
Diamond Certified
To become Diamond Certified is a rigorous process. This isn’t just sending your customers to vote for you on a website. The American Ratings Corporation will call approximately 400 of the business’s real customers and ask them a series of questions about their satisfaction with that company.
In addition to surveying customers, American Ratings Corporation will also check to make sure the business has all the required insurance policies and state required certifications. The business must also prove that they have good business practices, offer mediation, offer the Diamond Certified Performance Guarantee and stand by their work. If the business passes all of these areas at 90% or higher, then they will be awarded the title of Diamond Certified.
The process is not over with earning Diamond Certified status, however. American Ratings Corporation will continue to check on the company to make sure it still qualifies for this esteemed status.

Since 1972, the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) has been testing and certifying auto mechanics. They are a not-for-profit certification company whose goal is to keep the automotive industry offering improved skills and services for consumers. When a mechanic is good enough to pass this rigorous testing, they proudly display the ASE Blue Seal logo in their auto shop.
ASE Blue Seal
The ASE Blue Seal assures the car owner that their mechanic has passed the ASE Blue Seal certification testing. In addition to the testing, the auto mechanic must have at least two years of on the job training in an auto shop, or one year of on the job training with a 2-year degree in automotive repair. In addition, the ASE requires that the mechanic retest and pass the certification process every five years.
The testing that ASE creates is a series of tests that are developed by a group of experts. These experts are from various automotive industries. Some of the experts are from auto manufacturers, some are mechanics, and some are aftermarket manufacturers. This group of experts collaborates to create a collection of 40 different exams that test a mechanic’s skill and knowledge. The exams are tough and one out of three mechanics fail. These exams do a great job of discerning the mechanic’s skill and knowledge.
Finding a Good Mechanic
Looking for the ASE Blue Seal makes finding a mechanic so much easier. You know that the mechanic displaying this seal is a very knowledgeable mechanic and will have the skills required to figure out just about any automotive problem you might bring in.
